Items may be found lying around the library that have not been re-shelved. This includes any items left unattended on shelves, return carts, tables, study rooms, computer areas or near the scanners.
Pick up items during building count, bring them to the Information Desk, process items as “In-House” use in ALEPH. Before materials can be shelved, they need to be broken down into workable units according to shelf location and call number. Sorting prepares materials for efficient and quick re-shelving. Sorting is usually done on book carts, but can be done at a table near the Information Desk if necessary. Once items have been sorted, they should either be re-shelved right away or placed on return cart(s) at the Information Desk for future shelving.
