Open the Microsoft Word or Google Docs document where you have written your paper.
Click the Zotero tab in the navigation ribbon.
Click "Document Preferences" to select your citation style.
Place your cursor where you want to insert an in-text citation.
Click "Add/Edit Citation."
Search for the title or author of the source you want to cite, and click on the desired source from the dropdown menu that appears.
Hit "Enter." The in-text citation is created.
Once finished adding in-text citations, go to the end of the paper and place your cursor where you want to insert a bibliography.
Click "Add/Edit Bibliography." The bibliography is created.
Check that the reference in your bibliography is correctly formatted according to your citation style, and make any necessary edits. Note that references Zotero creates are only as good as the information captured about the source in your Zotero library.
