Writing Center tutors can meet with you for online or face to face appointments using the Appointment Tool.
- Writing tutors are primarily available for online appointments via Zoom.
- If your appointment is in person, come to the Tutoring Commons (BL 217) on the second floor of RLB Library.
- Walk-in appointments are also welcome, but we encourage you to schedule an appointment as we might be booked when you come or working remotely.
- You can easily make an appointment up to 10 days in advance.
Schedule your appointment:
- Click on a white box that corresponds to the time you want to meet. An Appointment Request Form will open.
- One the Appointment Request Form, select the amount of time you need for your paper. Short papers usually only need a 30-minute appointment, while medium length papers need a 60-minute appointment. If you paper is longer than 7 pages, schedule some time for the consultant to read the paper before you meet.
- Fill out the information in the Appointment Request Form and attach your paper. This is only necessary if you are also scheduling reading time for the paper.
- Click Create Appointment.
- The system will send you any email confirming the date and time of your appointment.
For asynchronous feedback, submit your paper to the Online Writing Lab. Submit your paper electronically and one of our writing tutors will review it carefully and return it to you with general suggestions for revision. Our goal is to return papers within two business days of your submission.
Please be aware that we can only offer feedback for up to five double-spaced pages, and our comments tend to be more general than you would receive in a consultation when dialog is possible.
