Communication & Design

A guide to general and business communication resources at UB.

Getting started with your research:

Use Embedded Information Literacy to guide you through the beginning stages of your research process.  Watch and click through the content in sections 1-4:

  1. Picking your topic IS research!
  2. Smarter than the filter
  3. Foundations and Value Judgements
  4. What Makes a Trustworthy News Source?

If you haven't picked a topic to research yet, pick a topic!

Use the resources linked in the "Current Issues & Policies" box or the "Think Tanks & Research" box on this page to perform some preliminary research on your topic.

Once you find a source you think has potential to be a reputable resource, read up on Source Authority and perform the Source Authority check on your source.  If the source checks out and has authority on your topic, you can use it.
